Dear St. John’s Service Participant,
Here you will find the current schedule. Please take a careful look at when you are scheduled. If there is a conflict, you are asked to find a replacement and notify Kim in the Parish Office at 202-338-1796.
The previous schedule did not take into consideration that April 6 is a combined service. So please note changes in who is scheduled to serve on that day. Also note that May 11 we will have crucifer and torch bearers for both services, and June 1st is also a combined service.
On days you are scheduled to serve, it is important that you arrive at least 15 minutes before the service. Vestments for acolytes/crucifers are in the hall by the choir room. Find an alb that fits calf-length or longer, wearing a cross is optional. It is most appropriate (and appreciated) for adults to wear dress shoes when serving at the altar.
If you know of anyone who might be interested in becoming an acolyte, usher, or a minister of the word, please let the clergy and the office know about them. This is an important ministry and we want to encourage and recruit new participants.
Your participation in the worship at St. John’s is very important, and makes a real difference in the quality of our worship. Thank you all.

NOTE TO READERS: To practice your readings ahead of time, go to: The Lectionary Page and select the month and then RCL on the date you are to read. The readings for that day will pop up. We use the Old Testament reading for the 9 a.m. service, and both the Old Testament and New Testament readings for the 11 a.m. service. If you have any questions on what readings to practice, please call the Parish Office at 202-338-1796.
