Welcome

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you this day and evermore.

2 Corinthians 13:14

Saint John's Church has been faithfully witnessing to Christ in word and deed for over two centuries in Georgetown. Drawing people from all parts of the Washington Metropolitan area, Saint John's is a diverse and energetic community. We gather on Sunday mornings to worship, learn, and share each other's company so that we might go forth from the doors of Saint John's empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Christ in Every Breath!

St. John's Church

Christ in Every Deed!

In worship we give thanks to God and hear the Good News of Jesus Christ proclaimed. We express our faith in the risen Christ and share in his life in Holy Eucharist. Educational programs afford parishioners of all ages the opportunity to learn the basics of their faith. Various programs during the week provide an opportunity for a more in-depth exploration of our beliefs, scriptures, and history. As we grow in our faith as individuals, so also do we grow as a caring community serving God and each other.

The life and spirit of St John's are not restricted to the corner of O and Potomac Streets. Empowered by God we go forth into the world to serve others in our lives, our schools, and our workplaces. Through our extensive Outreach Program we extend a helping had to those in need. At St. John's the Outreach Program is more than financial assistance – it is interaction and personal involvement with the people whom we seek to help. The spirit that is poured out in service to the wider community is also experienced in welcoming all who enter this place.

We welcome all who wish to join our dynamic faith community. Please contact us to become a member, be baptized or confirmed, or to be placed on our mailing list.
